Referring to Tai Ci Chuan videos is a great way to reinforce learning Tai Chi forms. This article reveals how to load those videos onto your iPhone.
There do not appear to be any really good Tai Chi Chuan apps available at the time of writing. The 24/7CHI app, though not a Tai Chi Chuan program, is an interesting exception, worth checking out. You can however compensate for the lack of apps because there is a method for you to save your favorite Tai Chi Chuan, YouTube videos onto your iPhone. The easiest way to convert the video file for playability on an iPhone is through an on-line conversion site. You will also need to set up your iPhone for saving files.
Step One – The USB App for iPhone
- Download and install the USB app from the Apps store. This will provide a storage area for your videos. This is a terrific app, which you can use for a lot of other things as it is usable pretty much like any other USB, except of course you need to link to iTunes for access.
Step Two – Find a Tai Chi Video On-line
- Open and play the Tai Chi video of your choice.
- Copy the http address from the URL display window at the top of your browser.
Step Three – Open an on-line Conversion Tool Such as Zamzar
- Zamzar will allow you copy and convert your file free of charge, or you can sign up for additional service and more direct access for a nominal fee. The interface is very easy to use and works perfectly.
- In Zamzar, select the "URL" option, then paste the address you previously copied. Make sure you haven’t duplicated the "http://" part of the address.
- Select the "Conversion Format", i.e. iPhone.
- Enter your e-mail address.
- Click “Convert”
Step Four – Download the Converted Tai Chi iPhone file
- Zamzar will email you an address after the conversion has been completed (a few minutes). This site contains the link to your converted video. Click to download onto your desktop.
Step five – Transfer the Tai Chi Video onto your iPhone
- Connect your iphone to your computer and iTunes. Select "apps" and open up the USB app located at the bottom of the window.
- Simply drag the movie file into the USB window.
